About the information network – For residents of shared apartments
Koas apartments have fixed broadband connections (“Telia Yhteys kotiin” L-package) with a speed of 100/100Mbit/s. The use of the broadband connection is free for the residents. In addition, shared apartments are equipped with a pre-installed Zyxel router that allows you to surf the internet wirelessly. On this page, you can find basic instructions for connecting to the internet and using the device.
NB! Residents of shared apartments need not separately activate/deactivate the internet connection when moving in/out. If you have problems with the internet, please contact the Koas office.

Connecting to the internet
You can use the wireless internet connection immediately after moving in. Just connect your phone/computer to the WiFi network of your room. You can find the network name (SSID) and password (Wireless key) on the back of the router. If this fails, read the instructions given below for resetting and other functions. If you wish, you can also connect to the network using an Ethernet cable: connect one end of the cable to a yellow port of the router, e.g. LAN1, and the other end to your computer.
We recommend to reset the device and change the password when moving into your new apartment.
To reset the router, press the RESET button on the back of the router for more than 10 seconds with the power connected to the router. In this way, you can reset the device to factory settings and delete any settings defined by the previous resident.
After resetting the router, change the password in Device Manager by browsing to http://192.168.1.1/
If the connection fails, connect the computer to the router using a network cable. Enter the username and password; the default username is “admin”. The password can be found on the sticker on the back of the device ("Login password").
The device asks you to replace the default password with a stronger one. The Quick Setup function starts when you use the device for the first time and always after a factory reset. You can use the Quick Setup or skip it by selecting "Skip". Change the WiFi password under WiFi Settings.
What to do if the router is not pre-installed?
Handle the router and cables carefully. Plug the router to a wall socket. Connect the router cable between the WAN port and the wall data network socket. Wait until the device starts up (10–15 min) before trying to connect to the internet.

Router belongs to the shared apartment room
Please note that the router, cable and power cord are property of Koas and belong to the related shared apartment room. If the router is not found or is found damaged during the apartment inspection, the resident will be charged according the Koas pricelist for liability for damages.
