Terminate your lease
Termination of Tenancy request
You can terminate your tenancy agreement through the resident portal by using the “Termination” button and confirming your identity with online banking credentials. Please have your banking credentials ready before filling out the termination form. Note that you can only terminate the agreement by full calendar months, meaning you must choose the last day of the month in which you want the agreement to end.
For a family agreement, both parties must approve the termination.
When you terminate a room in a shared apartment, we will inform the remaining tenant(s) in the apartment about the room becoming available.

Give permission to hand over your contact information upon termination and show the apartment to the new possible tenant, also presenting with pictures or a video is enough. If it leads to contract with new tenant, you will receive a €10 GoGift gift card during the month following the end of the contract.
Terminating the lease of a family or a shared apartment
For family lease contracts, both leaseholders must submit their own Termination of Tenancy request. If one of you wishes to stay in the apartment, please contact the Housing Office before sending your Termination of Tenancy request.
If you terminate your lease from a shared apartment, Koas will inform the other tenants about the empty room.
The notice period
The notice period starts from the last day of the month in which the Termination of Tenancy request is received by Koas. The landlord’s tenancy notice period is 6 months, if your tenancy has lasted more than 1 year. If your tenancy has lasted less than a year, the notice period for landlord is 3 months.
A fixed-term lease ends automatically on the expiry of the contract, which means a separate termination of the tenancy is not required.
