About KOAS

Central Finland Student Housing Foundation (KOAS) builds and rents out flats for students in Jyväskylä. The organisations behind the foundation are the City of Jyväskylä, The Jyväskylä University Student Union (JYY), JAMK University of Applied Sciences, The Student Union (JAMKO) and the Jyväskylä Institute of Adult Education Student Union (JAMO).

The foundation provides affordable and safe rental housing for all students in 2nd and 3rd level education. KOAS governs a total of 2 436 apartments. A third of these are studio apartments. The foundation offers housing for a total of 4 005 students. In 2017, the foundation made a net sales of € 14 076 945 and a balance sheet of €116 105 392 .

Governing Bodies of the Foundation

The Delegation meets twice a year, electing the Board and validating the yearly budget and financial statements. The background organizations and AsuVa elect the 24 members of the Delegation.

The Board is responsible for organizing the foundation's operations. The Board consists of the Chairman and 9 members.

AsuVa is the Cooperation Delegation of Tenant Committees. AsuVa consists of representative of every KOAS Tenant Committees.
