Announcement related to covid-19

The number of coronavirus infections in Jyväskylä has turned to rapid growth. It is time to stay home, stay safe and take care of one's own and others' health. Even though the situation may cause stress and worry, we will get through this by acting responsibly and following instructions. We can do this, thank you for doing your part!

Please follow primarily the instructions from the authorities on how to deal with corona virus prevention, suspicion of infection, or other corona virus related issues.

The health and safety or Koas tenants and staff is a priority. The number of coronavirus infections in Jyväskylä has turned to rapid growth. Now its a crucial time to take responsibility and maintain safety distances, wear a mask and take care of good hand hygiene. Most of all, if you suspect or have been exposed to the coronavirus (even if your test has shown negative), it is extremely important that you stay home and follow the instructions of the official authorities.

Koas office is closed for the time being. We are here to help but the customer service is conducted via our online services: Koas website, via email or by calling +358 29 180 4444 (weekdays from 12 noon to 3pm). You can come to the office only for picking up the keys or if you have a separately agreed upon appointment. We are continuously monitoring the situation and following the instructions of the Finnish Government and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.

You can return the keys to our key returning box that you can find next to the office door. There are envelopes and instructiond for returning the key next to the box.

Please notice that only urgent reported faults will be fixed for the time being. Tenants, please make sure your phone number is correct on the Booking system so that the maintenance can contact you if needed! If you have made a fault report, please add a comment to the report in case you are ill or have been exposed to the virus. You can find the link to the report on the email confirmation.

The common spaces in the housing location, including the saunas, gyms, common rooms and other facilities have been closed for February 1 - 28. Also common sauna turns and the Ykköspesä sauna are off. All reservations will be cancelled. Saunacredits will be refunded in Booking credits.

You can still use the laundry but with greatest caution: no entry to Laundry if you feel ill, have been infected or suspect an infection. Wash hands before and after going to the laundry, maintain 2 m safety distance and wear a mask. Do not hang around in the laundry space any more than you need to. All the surfaces such as the door handles, elevator buttons etc. are cleaned but it is extremely important that tenants take good care of their hand hygiene.

The use of common areas, such as the laundry room, is forbidden if you suspect an infection or feel at all ill.

THL: How do you protect yourself?

Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Wash your hands especially when you come in, after a toilet visit, or when you have coughed or sneezed.

If water and soap are not available, use an alcoholic hand rinse.

Change your home towels frequently and use disposable towels outside the home.

Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth unless you have just washed your hands.

Avoid large crowds and close contact with a person with respiratory tract infection.

In public places and in crowds, keep at least a meter away from others especially if someone coughs or sneezes

THL: How to protect others?

If you have mild symptoms of a respiratory infection, it is a good idea to stay home. Do not go to work, school or hobbies.

Avoid shaking hands.

Protect your mouth and nose with a disposable handkerchief when coughing or sneezing. Put the used handkerchief immediately to a bin.

If you do not have a handkerchief, cough or sneeze at the top of your sleeve, not on your hands.
