Applying for a flat
All students can apply for Koas flats. For couples, one must be a student. The flat is at one's disposal for two years after the end of the studentship. The application for a flat can be submitted in the net or at the Koas office. No enclosures are required in the application. The right to study is checked with the educational unit.
Your application is valid for 3 months. The applicant must renew the application him/herself by phone or e-mail asiakaspalvelu(a)koas.fi.
Note that the lease is always for full months.
Renting a flat
1. Submit the application in the net.
2. We will confirm the reception of your application by sending an automatic message to your e-mail address.
3. The application is valid for 3 months. You can detail your needs after submitting the application by contacting the tenant office.
4. When a suitable flat is free, we will send you an offer for the flat. The letter contains instructions for accepting the offer.
5. If you don't accept the offer, inform us about it immediately to make the flat available for the next person in the waiting list.
6. Sign the rental agreement at the Office. Remember to take your passport with you. For family flats, the rental agreement must be signed by both tenants.
7. You will get your home keys upon signing the rental agreement on the first working day of the month.
Application for a flat change
If you already live in a Koas flat and want to change the flat, fill out the change application in the net. This application need not be renewed. The transfer fee is 60 €. The waiting time for single-room flats varies between 3 and 24 months according to the housing location.
Security deposit
The security deposit must be in our account by the given date in the offer. If the flat is in good order and all commitments are taken care of when moving out, the security deposit will be returned within a month.
Important:
Please note that smoking is forbidden in all KOAS houses and keeping pets is not allowed in shared flats.
Koas has about 500 unfurnished single-room flats. Single-room flats are given only to those already living in Koas houses. The waiting time for a single-room flat varies between 3 and 24 months depending on the housing location.
Furnished shared flats are available in the housing locations of Keltinmäki, Myllyjärvi, Roninmäki and Ristonmaa. Furniture fees are 10–15€/month. The fee for a separate weekly sauna bath is 5 €/month.
